Public Forum Debate Camp

Gamma Session : July 24th-30th

Cost: $100 (fee waiver available, email advocatedebate22@gmail.com for any concerns regarding cost). We do not want cost to be a prohibiting factor for people to attend this camp. Please email us and we will meet 100 percent of financial need.

Our Public Forum Debate Camp is designed for people at all ages and all levels of debate. At this intensive one week camp, kids will get a head start on the school year by prepping for the September October topic in Public Forum, and having practice debates on the topic. Students will be split into groups or “labs” with other students who have similar debate experience as them. Kids will leave with a full blockfile and multiple cases done for the topic. The camp will culminate in a camp tournament.

Sample Schedule:

  • Individualized Instruction.

Our staff has taught at a variety of different debate camps (Carroll Middle School Debate, MSJ Debate) and has attended the most popular debate camps (PFA, Delta, NSD, NDF, ISD). As students at those debate camps, we know what teaching methods work best for students. We offer the same quality of instruction and teaching but at a fraction of the cost. Our students also know what the current debate landscape looks like. We can train kids to succeed now with the tips and strategies that we’ve learned. No matter what level you are in your debate career, from not having any experience to wanting to transition to national level success, we have an instructor that can uniquely teach to your needs.

  • Community.

At camp, all debaters will get access to the Advocate Debate Discord, where prep will be shared throughout camp and also throughout the year. Our instructors will also share prep in the Advocate Debate Discord throughout the year. We strive to eliminate the costly, exclusive prep groups by giving all debaters prep throughout the year. Especially for females or novice debaters who have a difficulty breaking into these elitist prep groups, this will help equalize the prep disparity. Furthermore, our instruction extends beyond camp. Debaters get paired up with a mentor at camp who works with them one on one, and this mentor will stay with them beyond camp as well, meeting with students bimonthly. Mentors will continue to give debaters feedback and help them improve, so growth doesn’t end at camp.

  • Grow it.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
